My sports gambling journey began during the 1998-1999 NFL season.
It was a different time back then. We got the lines out of the sports section of the Sunday paper. There may have been some information online to look into, but I never did. I just watched football every week. That was all I needed, right? After all, I watched the pre-game shows and listened carefully to the talking heads.
I would bet on my "favorite" team. I looked at what game was on tv, yeah lets bet that one! I bet on who I thought would win. I had no concept of a "bankroll". No concept of closing line value. No concept of plus EV betting. No idea what implied probability was. No clue what I was getting myself into.
If I lost on the early games, I simply doubled down on the evening games. If I lost again, another run to the package store for more beer and let it all ride in prime time!
You could problem guess how this went for me. Not good. I was handing money over week after week. At one point I owed nearly my whole paycheck for that week. Finally, I took a break.
Luckily, I was able to walk away for a bit. The heaviness of the kind of losses I was experiencing outweighed all else. I wanted nothing to do with it. I look back at that those times now and I consider those loses "paying tuition". I payed good money to learn great lessons. The hard way.
Fast forward a few years, and I realized I was pretty good at picking outcomes of UFC fights. I found a place online where I would pick every fight, method and round for every card in an online league. I had pretty good success and decided it was time start wagering real money again.
Eventually I found myself in some online discussions with like minded people. I became pretty popular with my picks branching out to most professional sports.
I spent hours researching and developing methods. I had already made every mistake in the book, so I knew what NOT to do.
Before I knew it, I was winning consistently. I was getting private messages asking for my picks. I was being asked my thoughts on match ups, games and series. I was being offered money after wins through digital payment platforms without even asking. My bets were making money for those that tailed.
It wasn't until I made almost daily picks on MLB that I realized I had something. My research had told me MLB was one of the hardest sports to be profitable long term, and I was doing it. After another successful MLB season I decided I wanted help people win on a larger scale. I was going to put myself out there. Asking for a small fee to compensate for some of the time I was putting in, the idea for MassMoneyline was born.
In the websites fist year, we enjoyed over 68 units of profit across all major sports. I consider it a privilege to be able to help people with sports wagering. I am honored that you would trust me with your hard earned money. I've made every sports betting mistake and learned the hard way so you don't have to. I spend hours every day finding the best spots across a host of different markets. I keep refining my techniques, and the learning process never ends. Most importantly, I can't wait to handicap tomorrow games.
